Shakespeare Martineau is a leading law firm in the Midlands, strong in London, and connected globally. It operates from offices in Birmingham, Leicester, London, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Sheffield, Solihull, Stratford upon Avon and a serviced office in Brussels.
Working with organisations of all sizes, the firm delivers a broad range of specialist legal services and particularly stands out for its expertise across sectors including, but not limited to: energy, education, banking and financial services, investment funds, healthcare and advanced manufacturing. We were approached to work on a number of projects.
The first is the Shakespeare Martineau Annual Review. The firm has grown significantly over the last 5 years- through acquisition and merger. With such rapid growth it is often difficult to keep clients and staff informed of what has been happening. We were commissioned to design a piece that would reflect the newly merged firm and communicate its key messages to both an internal and external audience with clarity. Working with the overarching concept of ‘perspectives’ we wanted to give a 360 degree view of the firm. We used a combination of graphic devices, considered colour, photography and engaging copy to produce a stand out Report for the firm.
Our key creative concept was to make the people who make up the firm the stars of the show. We wanted to focus on the CSR initiatives the firm had undertaken. Finally we ensured the facts and figures were laid out in an inviting, clear manner.
The firm also approached us when they were looking to expand their presence in London. To communicate this to clients we used an illustrative approach to highlight cultural signifiers of other regional offices and related them to London locations. We kept the piece message heavy and text light. The end result is a piece that communicates clearly and confidently to the end user
