The Legalbrands Story
In 2014, Studio Jo and Co was launched by Gary Wheat and Paul Cojeen. We started out with one Chambers client and one law firm. In our first year as an agency our work was nominated for a Transform Award for Best Visual Identity and awarded a Gold at The Roses Creative Awards for Best Corporate Literature for work in the legal sector. This feat has never been achieved before or repeated since. In the following years we built a client stable of over twenty Chambers and a dozen law firms. This led to us undertaking increasingly interesting, complex and creative work for the legal sector- and really enjoying it. We came to the conclusion that every set and every firm is indeed unique. As we dug down Gary realised that while the team relished the large projects from comprehensive rebrands to websites, there existed a greater overall need for considered creative intelligence and commercial understanding in the legal world. With this in mind Legalbrands was formed. With this change in direction Paul Cojeen and Gary parted company, with Gary and Design Director Craig Rotheram building a studio dedicated to satisfying the brand and marketing needs of the legal profession.
Our studio is now made up of a team of strategists, designers, developers, copywriters and creative thinkers who believe every project we undertake for our clients must be memorable and commercially effective. We retain the creative freedom our team have always enjoyed but combine it with a data led, insight based approach to ensure that what we produce not only looks good but also hits the mark in terms of return on investment. While based in Liverpool, our clients are further afield. From New York to the Bahamas, Edinburgh to Exeter, Zurich and beyond we believe that conceptually strong, business focused knows no boundaries either creatively or geographically.
